The Westward Journey Comes to a Close

We can hardly believe that this summer is already over! It has been such an amzing journey from start to finish. From the time that we started practicing together, we knew the Lord had something special for us. We had so many struggles at the beginning, but that's when He showed Himself strongest and He continued to work through the whole summer. Thank you Pastor and Mrs. Sexton for giving us this opportunity to travel and represent Crown. We felt extremely unworthy of such an honor and we are grateful for it. Thanks also to Bro. Gray, Mrs. Sengmany, Miss Clark, Mrs. Stancil, and Mr. Cheney for all your help and encourgagement to us during our training. Your diligence and patience working with us helped prepare us for the work that was to come.

We would like to say a hearty "thank you" to every church and pastor we met this summer. Some of you were small congregations, but we did not encounter one where we were not met with love and hospitality. We have a broader vision for the west and the people there and we thank you for showing us that the Lord's people take care of the Lord's people no matter where they are. You were all such a blessing to us and we will continue to pray for your ministries.

We know we could not have travelled this summer without the support and prayers of our parents and family. Thank you all so much for being there for us every step of the way and for preparing us so faithfully for what we were called upon to do this summer. Your example and tender guidance in our lives is not taken for granted and we thank God for your influence.

Our summer would not have been the same without our experienced, stalwart leaders, Mr. and Mrs. Dustman. You were such an inspiration to us and we owe a debt of gratitude to you and your family for sacrificing your summer to travel with us. We know it was exhausting at times, but you kept going just the same. Mr. Dustman, we thank you for driving all that way and still finding the energy to preach and encourage the Pastors the way you did. Your steadfastness will always be remembered by us and looked to as an example of faithfulness. Mrs. Dustman, your caring words to us were just what we needed every time and we appreciate your heart to encourage God's people every place we went. Thank you both for your burden for the west and your heart to share that burden with others so that more laborers would go to that needy area. We had the time of our lives and we will always cherish the memories we made with you along the way. God bless you for your sacrifice and faithfulness.

We had an experience of a lifetime this summer and we thank each of you who kept up with us for your prayers and comments. We are thankful for the Lord's protection and blessing on our group through it all and we look forward to what He has for each of our lives in the future. God bless you and may the Lord continue to bring glory to himself through the ministries in the west and throughout the country.

Piedmont, MO We were excited to be in church with familiar faces again. We had the privilege of seeing Mona Hassel and Amanda Green's mother and grandparents. Amanda's family really enjoyed seeing her on the Crown display and everyone took pictures by it :)

We all felt very energetic for this service and we're grateful to God for giving us the needed strength for these last few meetings. Mr. Dustman preached from Ps. 115 about being on the mind of God and everyone was very moved to think more of God in light of how much He thinks of us. We enjoyed some wonderful accommodations and we want to thank the gracious people of Victory Baptist for the delicious meal and lovely places to stay the night. It was a joy to fellowship with you all.

Pastor Ball

Sunday night, we experienced a service the memory of which will last us a lifetime. The experience was absolutely amazing; the pictures can merely describe it. After having a rough afternoon with a blown tire, God empowered a wonderful service at the Tabernacle Baptist Church. Every Sunday night, this church holds a service for a company of soldiers from the basic training camp. Pastor Ball always gives a salvation message, allows the Holy Spirit to convict hearts, and watches soldiers come to Christ.

Sunday night was incredible. So many of these soldiers had no Bible, had never been in church, nor had ever heard the gospel. We had the privilege to sing some patriotic songs for them as well as a wonderful salvation song. As Pastor Ball gave the gospel message, Christians could sense the Holy Spirit moving. It felt almost tangible. As the Pastor continued down the Romans road, soldiers began weeping, pondering over Christ's sacrifice. When he gave the invitation, a crowd of soldiers went forward. These mere words can not even describe the emotion that flooded our hearts after seeing such a sight.

God is real! We saw Him work in this amazing service. He has reminded us that the world is in need of the gospel. He will work, but we must tell.

Landmark Baptist Church

We had a wonderful time at Landmark Baptist Church. They invited to a youth activity where we played capture the flag with water guns. We had a lot of fun playing with the youth group.

Early on Sunday morning we got to help on their bus routes. That was very enjoyable to see all these kids come on the bus. We also sung on the teen sunday school, and one of their college students preached a great message.

This church had a patriotic theme so we were able to sing our patriotic songs. We had awonderful service, and it was a joy just to see the heart of the people there. We had a wonderful time.

We want to thank Landmark Baptist Church for their wonderful hosptitality and for the wonderful meals.

Meet Me in St. Louis

You probably already saw on the Central trio's blog that we met up, but we had some different pictures, so we felt we had to do a post too. We did have a great time with them, just hanging out at the arch, eating lunch, and roaming through the St. Louis Zoo. We had some good laughs about things we've experienced this summer, plus we made a few new memories with each other. It was over way too soon, but we enjoyed the time we did have together. It reminded us to continually pray for them as well as the other groups. We've all been so privileged to travel this summer and we thank God for such an opportunity to serve the Lord in such an amazing way.

Pastor Satterfield brought a message on "One Word Tells a Story." He gave three words that described a story and compared them to our lives. Sad, Almost, and Gain were the three words describing the rich, young ruler, King Agrippa, and Paul. Paul was the one who gained it all through Christ! It was such an encouraging message to continue on following Jesus whole-heartily.
Mrs. Dustman had to leave us! We miss her so much and are praying for her ladies meeting in Colorado.

She left us a message to put on the blog:

It has been an abundant joy traveling with Bri, Keanne, Rachael and Hannah these past three months. They have added excitement, interest and total cooperation on the journey.

Parents of these four girls truly you claim 3 John: "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."

Bri-your continuous leadership for us, for the other girls and churches was outstanding making our lives much easier. I especially appreciate the fact that you loved the West.

Keanne-your enthusiastic spirit was exactly what we needed at times. Your and Bri's blog and photography expertise was perfection.

Hannah- your Southern accent and graciousness was a sight "to behold" for the wild West to observe. By myself and others, your musical talent at the piano was a blessing.

Rachael- your smile and pleasant personality evened out the rest of us. Also, you were a trooper during your medical trials.

The West will never seem the same to me after traveling with you ladies!!!
I love you and will be missing you as well as praying fervently for you in the next two weeks.

We decided to celebrate Mr. Dustman's birthday today because Mrs. Dustman has to leave and go to Tennessee before she takes off for a ladies' retreat in Colorado. We thank the Lord for the Dustman's and their sacrifice of being out all summer serving the Lord! We all pitched in and bought Mr. Dustman a frame with their picture in it riding horses this summer, a Yellowstone screensaver, and a card. We love you Mr. and Mrs. Dustman, and we thank the Lord for you! We have the best group leaders ever!

We had the opportunity to see part of the Badlands today on the way to Nebraska.

During the Sunday evening service, Mr. Dustman spoke out of John 16 on "A Little While." In his message, he gave us ways we should be able to see Jesus through our daily lives. We thank the Lord for the opportunity to be serving Him this summer!

After church, the Pastor's wife and some of the ladies put together a gift bag for us. The timing was perfect! We needed the encouragement and friendliness of the church people. It reminded us of home. Thank you for your Christian hospitality!

We had one more service in the Dustman family's church in South Dakota, and it was a great joy once again. Pastor Williams had just returned a home a few hours before the service from a mission to Fiji, so we heard a good report from him about the churches and missionary effort there. Several members of Mrs. Dustman's family were able to attend, so we were pleased to meet them all. After a great service, we had a wonderful lunch with Pastor Williams, his family, and the whole Dustman/Duncan clan. We had a great time and we thank the Lord for allowing us to make new friends in this special church, especially among the Dustmans' family. We appreciate Pastor Williams and Liberty Baptist for making us feel so at home during both of our visits to Rapid. A special thanks to "Grandpa" Dustman for allowing us to stay at the ranch and for being so sweet to us. We love you Grandpa, and happy birthday!

As you can see, a vital member of our group was absent from our Friday night service. Rachael had been having problems with an infected wisdom tooth for several days and it got painful enough that it had to be extracted today. Needless to say, she was not up to singing tonight, so we got to the church early enough to run through some songs that Hannah could sing her part on while playing the piano. The Lord blessed in a special way and the service turned out great regardless of our handicap. We are so grateful the Lord blessed Hannah with the talent that she has for music so she could sing and play without hardly practicing with us. Pastor Adams was very accommodating and had driven 1100 miles from West Coast's conference to be in the service. We are so pleased to see another church in Casper that is faithfully working to influence their community for Christ. Thank you Pastor Adams and Grace Bible Baptist for showing us so much kindness.

Lander, WYPastor King was so kind to us during our stay in Lander and we had a great time at the church there. They had a group of men from Maryland that had just arrived to help the church on their building program and they were excited about their upcoming workday on Saturday. After a good service of singing and preaching, we enjoyed a meal and fellowship with the church and the people were so welcoming and friendly to us. Praise the Lord for pastors like Pastor King who are dedicated to the Lord's work in the place that He has called them to.

We stopped by the next morning to see how the work for the church was going. We sang a couple songs for them before we left to go to Casper.

Mountain View Baptist Church

We had a wonderful service at Mountain View Baptist Church. In the morning we helped out with VBS, there we met a missionary family. They were a very sweet family that also sang. The children were very talented and were a huge encouragement to us. The oldest 14-year-old boy wrote a song about witnessing that really cut through your heart. Wow, that convicted each of us.

After the service Bri got to play in a trumpet trio with the pastor and his wife. That was really neat, and we really enjoyed it.

During our visit we met up with some friends of the Dustman's that used to go to Temple, David and Sandra Hancock. They were such a blessing to us. On Wednesday morning, Mr. Hancock took us out to see the Tetons and we had a wonderful time of fellowship.

Heritage Baptist Church

The Lord blessed us in a great way on Sunday night with a wonderful service in Heritage Baptist. We felt right at home as soon as we arrived and we knew that the Lord was in the service. Mr. Dustman preached on being a salty servant from Matt. 5 and we were all challenged to be a stronger witness for the Lord in our daily lives. We were able to fellowship with many of the people of the church after the service and even talked to some people who knew a few Crown students. Pastor Schearer invited us to his house for supper and we greatly enjoyed the food and fellowship with his family. The next morning the pastor helped us enormously by replacing all four of our van tires with brand new ones. It was especially timely because we knew we would be traveling a great deal the next day. The Lord has been so good to supply all our needs and we want to thank Pastor Schearer and Heritage Baptist for all their kindness and generosity to us.

The Lord is so good! He faithfully has met with us in every meeting. Not a service goes by that He does not speak to our hearts, including this service at Fairview. Pastor Dion and his dear members welcomed us and were so hospitable to us during our stay. Thank you!

Castle Rock Bible Camp

We had the privilege of spending one night at Castle Rock Camp outside of Bozeman, MT. We had a relaxing afternoon and just enjoyed the beautiful setting. We sung in the evening service, and Hannah and Keanne were asked to give their testimony around the bonfire. It was a chilly night, getting down into the 30's, but we enjoyed talking with the teenagers. We were able to spend some time with Barbara Sutton there and met some of her friends. We also met an alumnus, Mr. House. We thank the Lord for being able to serve here!

We had our first service in the state of Montana and what a wonderful service it was! When we got there, Keanne realized that the pastor lived and pastored a church in Decatur, Illinois. On Wednesday, we had a great service in a church in Powell, WY. We were all thinking of home, since we were in Powell :). After we sang and testified, Mr. Dustman preached about the tests of faith we encounter in our lives and how we are to react to them. After a brief time of fellowship, we were privileged to stay with Lorena Kiser and her family for the night and much of the next day. We had a great time getting to know Lorena and her family, and we thank them so much for their kindness to us. God has blessed us with Christian friends all across the west. Pastor Barrick We had a wonderful time in Cody at this beautiful, western church. Pastor Barrick was not able to be there, as he is at Camp Castle Rock this week, which is where we're headed on Friday. His son conducted the service and we were very graciously recieved. Bro. Dustman filled in in the pastor's absence and brought a message from Matt. 9 on the mercy that Christ showed to people and how we are to follow his example. The Lord blessed in the service and we were blessed even more with wonderful accomodations for the night with some kind people in the church. We are very thankful for all the hospitality and generosity extended to us during our visit to this beautiful town.

Pastor Bode spoke during the Sunday night service on Ephesians 4:31-32. He spoke about forgiveness and how forgiveness is not bringing the sin back onto their account again. How true this is with many Christians who hold things against one another. What a wonderful forgiving Lord we serve!

Thank you Pastor for the wonderful accommodations and meal! The new church building is beautiful, and your people are so kind. We enjoyed getting to know all of you for the short time we were there.

We have the privilege of being back in this church in a couple weeks. :) We are looking forward to seeing how the Lord will work!

For the weekend, we had the privilege of staying at Mr. Dustman Sr.'s ranch. Again, we were awed by how beautiful God's creation is! Mr. Dustman's father was so sweet to us. We enjoyed the time we got to know him. He adopted us for a few days and took us out to his favorite restaurant on Sunday where we had the opportunity to sing to the cooks. :) Mr. Dustman bought us some fireworks to shoot off at the ranch, and we spent the evening talking to his brother's family. We all had been looking forward to this day, and what a great day it truly was!

4th of July

Custer and Rapid City, SD

Early on the fourth, we arrived in downtown Custer to sing several songs in an outdoor meeting that was being held by Pastor Furse. He and his family sang several songs as well and he gave a brief message about the Christian foundation that our country was built upon. We had to leave that service early to get to our next meeting in Rapid City that had already started. Liberty Baptist Tabernacle was holding a God and Country rally and we were able to sing a couple songs at the conclusion of their service, after a stirring message from Col. Koontz, a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was a great service and we were glad to be a part of it. We met Mr. Dustman Sr. at that meeting and we concluded the day relaxing on his ranch in Caputa, SD.

Custer and Rapid City, SD

Bible Believer's Baptist Church

Our first stop in South Dakota was in the little tourist town of Custer. Before heading to the church, we passed by Mt. Rushmore, but could not park because of the crowd. Every July 3rd, they shoot fireworks off of the top of the monument, so there were way too many people to get close to the mountain. When we arrived at the church, Pastor Matt Furse and his family had supper prepared for us and we enjoyed great fellowship before the service. After singing and testifying, Bro. Dustman preached about what happens when we come to our "wits end" from Ps. 107 and it was a great encouragement to all of us, as well as to the church.
Immediately after the service, Pastor Furse and the dear people we stayed with took us to a mountain across from Mt. Rushmore so we could see the fireworks display. It was an amazing show and we were so thankful to be able to see it, even from a distance. Thank you Pastor Furse and Mr. and Mrs. Adams for making this a special holiday.

Pioneer Baptist Church

Wheatland, WY We had a great time in Wheatland with Pastor Robbins and his dear wife. Bro. Dustman preached from James 5:7 on what it means to be "stablished" in the Christian life. After the service, we drove up the mountain on a rough road to the pastor's house, which had only generator and solar power. We enjoyed a great view of the stars from his roof before going to bed and even saw a shooting star!
The next day, we sang in a service in a nursing home in Wheatland that Pioneer Baptist holds every Wednesday and were able to meet some very sweet elderly people there. We enjoyed ministering there so much and we were glad for the opportunity. After lunch, Pastor Robbins graciously gave of his time to show us some of the sights around Wheatland. We went to a cliff where pioneers on the Oregon trail carved their names and dates. We also saw some wagon ruts from those traveling on the Oregon trial. We enjoyed ourselves in Wheatland so much and we greatly appreciated all that the Robbins did to accommodate us during our stay.

Wednesday night we had a lovely meal with Pastor Ricker, his family and another couple from the church before the service. The Lord really blessed in our songs and testimony and Bro. Dustman presented a very encouraging messege to the church about the best things that were yet to come for Frontier Baptist. They are in the middle of renovating a new building and have great opportunity in the location that God has provided for them. We would like to say thank you to Pastor and the church for their kind hospitality and especially to the Wrights for the wonderful place to stay the night.

This Sunday morning, Mr. and Mrs. Dustman were reunited with some of their old friends from Colorado, the Saunders and Pastor and Mrs. Kemper.

The Lord spoke from Jeremiah 29 on His "unexpected end." The Lord is coming back, and we do not know our end, but we can have peace through Jesus Christ if we are born again and living for the Lord! The Lord really spoke to our hearts through this message and to many others in the congregation.

This church originally started as a boxcar church and continued to grow. It was so neat to hear the story of the church's history!

Denver Zoo

We got to go to the zoo in Denver, Colorado this Saturday. It was so fun! We were just able to relax and spend some time with Bro. Dustman. It was a wonderful treat for us. We got to see all the wonderful animals the Lord has created. Our favorite animal was the monkey. It was so funny to watch them. Thank you so much Bro. Dustman for taking us. We really appreciate it. We had a great time!

We had a wonderful meeting here at Torrington Baptist Temple. Bro. Dustman preached a wonderful message out of Psalm 16 about our goodly heritage in Christ. We are not to forget the things the Lord has done for us, but we are to pass it down to the next generation. He also taught us that our duty as a Christian is to take our dependency and direction from the Word of God.
After the service we were able to go to Arby's and have fellowship with some of the people from the church. We were able to play with the children and just have a good time.
We want to thank them for their hospitality and friendship. The people here were a blessing to be around. Thank you so much.

Pastor Potter gave us unforgetable memories, allowing us to help with VBS, seeing "cantelope" and baby rabbits, going fishing, and ministering to the dear people of his church. He and his wife showed us genuiene hospitality, providing us comfortable accomodations and home-cooked meals; but much more beyond all that, the fellowship with all the believers was amazing. No matter where we go, the Spirit of Christ unites us with those of like faith: they can not be nor ever will be strangers.

Mr. Dustman presented Pastor Potter gifts from the college for him and his dear wife.

Hannah and her "special" friend: This man noticed that Hannah was the pianist before ever hearing her play; let's just call it a "special" talent. He had a tremendous ability of making everybody smile, and God used him to be a great blessing.

We spent a few days at Yampa Valley Baptist Church for their Vacation Bible School on Monday and Tuesday. We were able to help the children during craft time and to sing for the closing sessions. On Tuesday, the children and we were able to ride a horse-drawn wagon. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously, and the children were such a blessing.

The theme for the week was a Jewish theme about Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. The children were well-behaved and listened closely to the lessons.

We were able to go through the Black Canyon on Saturday and we saw some really beautiful sights. We have been so blessed to see some of the most gorgeous places in our country and we are thankful that God has allowed us to see so much of His creation.

Pastor Jim Welch We greatly enjoyed being at Victory Baptist Church. We greatly enjoyed the fellowship with the people here. They were very kind and hospitable.

Bro. Dustman preached a wonderful message about not complaining to the Lord, not compromising, and not being complacent. It was a very strong message, and it spoke to our hearts. It taught us that Christians need to be more concerned about living for the Lord, and showed us that the only way America is going to change is if we as Christians are more concerned about what the Lord thinks. It was great.

During the service we were able to sing "Happy Anniversary" to a couple in the church, by request of the pastor. It was such a joy just to see them smile.

Please pray for Victory Baptist Church as they do a great work for the Lord. The Lord has truly blessed their ministry. The pastor was a great encouragement to us and just made us smile. The people here are just great.

We were still tired from camp on Thursday night, but the Lord blessed us with a great service at Bro. Childers' church in beautiful Montrose. The people there were so sweet and encouraging and we were so glad we went. On the way out of our hotel, we ran into a family that the Dustmans knew but had not seen in years. Dean Miller was a pastor in Colorado Springs for years, and recently his son, Matt took over the work there. It was him, his wife and four kids that we met and they were on their way to our service! Bro. Matt is good friends with Bro. Childers and he ended up preaching at Bro. Childers' request. He preached a wonderful message on the things that were less blessed to give than receive: criticism, revenge, and unkind words. Many were stirred by the message and nearly the whole congregation came to the altar afterwards. We thank the Lord for using Bro. Miller to encourage this wonderful Pastor and church.

Thank you Pastor Childers and church for your sweet spirit and kindness to us during our time in Montrose. We appreciated all the hospitality. We will pray for you when the Lord brings you to our minds.

We had a wonderful service at Mountain View Bible Church on Wednesday night after leaving camp. The Lord is really blessing at this church, and we could tell the people have a heart for the things of the Lord. As we sang the Lord blessed our hearts as we saw the smiling faces of the people. They were truly a blessing.

Bro. Dustman brought a message out of Mark 11 that reminded us that the Lord needs us and that the Lord wants to use us. The message reminded us that our job as a Christian is to carry the gospel to a lost and dying world.

Before the service we were able to eat with the pastor and his wife. The pastor expressed his burden for his church and we were encouraged by his servant's heart. The church has just purchased a new van, and they are hoping to start a van route soon. He also shared his burden to reach the next generation.

We want to thank the lovely people who provided a place for us to stay the night. We enjoyed our time fellowshipping with you and we greatly appreciate your kindness and hospitality.

Praise the Lord for this church and the work they are doing for Christ. Please pray for them as they try to reach more souls for Christ.

What a blessing we had being able to spend Monday and Tuesday at camp! We went to be a blessing, but they ended up being more of a blessing to us! We were able to work in the kitchen, sing, and give devotionals to the girls everyday.

Mr. Vengelderen spoke to all of our hearts during each service. One message he spoke on Matt. 5: 14-16: "What does it mean to be salt?" We were convicted about letting Christ truly shine through us to the lost world. The next day he followed the message up with confessing and forsaking our sin. God worked in our group and gave us a fresh desire to serve HIM with all our heart!

On Thursday, we were able to go to the summit of Pike's Peak on the Cog Train. It was such a great view all the way up and then the summit was absolutely breathtaking. We saw the view that inspired Katherine Lee Bates to write the poem "America the Beautiful" and inspiring it was. I wish the pictures could do it all justice, but they do give you a good idea of the amazing part of God's creation that we were able to see.

Our last service in Lakin was a very good one and we enjoyed getting to know this lovely church. After we sang several songs, Mr. Dustman brought a great message from Numbers 16:9 on the subject of service for the Lord. Moses asks Korah "Seemeth it but a small thing to you?" He's refering to his work in the ministry of the tabernacle, and it is especially applicable to us on this trip. There are great responsibilities in any church ministry, but music is especially influential and it should be handled with extra care. We are delivering God's message through music all summer, and we need to be reminded of our responsibility often.

Before and after the service, we spent such a precious time with the Pastor and his family. Their little two year old daughter made us all smile. She was so cute! Pastor and Tyson, thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality. We wish we could have stayed longer!

After leaving Prescott in the afternoon, we travelled a few hours to Osage City, where we arrived at Flint Hill Baptist Church. They had the church all set up for their Vacation Bible School this week and since we were so early, we volunteered to color the dinosuar mural they had on the wall of the audiorium. The kids really enjoyed watching us and giving us advice on which colors to use.

The evening service went very well and they had what they call a "linger-longer" afterwards (with food, of course) and it was so nice to get to know the people a little more. We are staying here for two more days to help with their VBS, so do pray that it goes well and that we will get to influence many kids before we move on.

On Friday, Pastor Stine wanted to canvas some nearby towns for a new bus route that he is starting. Justin Boyle is there interning this summer, and he is heading it up, so we all went out with them and covered every house in two small communities. The kids were easy to find as some of them followed us around and told us where the others lived. We had nearly 100% of the kids in the first town say they were going to ride on Sunday. We had gathered such a crowd, we sang for them and had a little impromptu Bible club. We taught them some fun songs and Justin gave a gospel presentation and encouraged them to learn more by coming to church. We had great fun being with the kids and we hope to hear good things from Bethel on Sunday. Thank you, Pastor Stine for allowing us to be a part of such an exciting day.

Precious Moments Museum

We had some time today, so we went to the Precious Moments museum just an hour away in Carthage, MO. It was a lovely place, and the man who created the idea of the little figurines has left a wonderful testimony in the chapel and museum. Mr. Butcher started in Child Evangelism and has a real heart for children. Many of the characters in the paintings were dedicated to children who had passed away. We were able to hear some of their stories and see the memorials on the grounds and in the chapel for many of the children and young people that he had been affected by. It was a lovely day and we enjoyed knowing more about the man behind the loveable characters we've seen all our lives. Sonda and Nonni Stine were able to go with us.

So, when Mr. Dustman got on the internet in the morning at Rogers, AR, he noticed that Garan Wallick and Brian Clark were just 15 minutes away from us at a church that has just been started south of Rogers. They are travelling as New Testament Church Pioneers this summer and Arkansas was there first stop. We called them and the Pastor gave them an hour or two to come to our hotel and have breakfast with us. We had a great time catching up and hearing all their news. They had some great pictures from pioneer training week. We really enjoyed getting to talk with them for a little bit. Please pray for them as they travel through the Rockys and even up through Washington state.

Pastor Cwenar used to be associate Pastor at White Drive when Mr. Dustman was Pastor there, so they were excited to see him again and be in this wonderful church. They had made many improvements on the building since the last time the Dustman's had seen it, and the church has grown considerably since Pastor Cwenar took the church a couple of years ago.
After we sang and testified, Bro. Dustman gave a message with a great illustration about God putting the pieces of your life together for you, if you only give the puzzle back to Him. We often try to force the pieces to fit, but God already knows how they are supposed to fit if we just trust Him with our lives. A senior in high school, Megan, was very moved by the service and is seeking the Lord's will for her life, so please pray she will give her puzzle to Him and let Him fit the pieces together.
We would like to thank Gospel Light for being willing to come on a Tuesday night to hear us. You were such an encouragement to us and we thank you for all your kind words to us. Thank you Pastor Cwenar for your generous heart and wonderful fellowship. We are praying for you and your family.

We were invited to come back to Batesville for a Memorial Day picnic by some friends from White Drive Baptist, and we gladly accepted. It was a lovely spot on the banks of a creek where a sweet man, Mr. Bill Lyle had built four huge tree houses. Pastor Longo and his family had been invited as well, and his three boys really enjoyed playing in the tree houses and getting soaked in the creek. The Lyles were so kind and enjoyed our singing very much, and we would like to thank Mr. Lyle for fixing the delicious ribs we had for lunch.
We had a wonderful day and the Lord blessed us with more opportunities to minister to people.

When we arrived at Grace, we were bombarded with welcomes and greetings from the people there. We could hardly get the display up because so many people wanted to talk to us and find out our names. We sang several songs, gave testimonies, and Mr. Dustman preached a great message about the "also" that Mary sought after at Jesus' feet in Mark 10. Pastor Hart was encouraged by the message and also had some very heartening things to say about Pastor Sexton, Temple Baptist and Crown. He and his family were so friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home.

The ladies of the church had prepared some delicious refreshments and we had a great time fellowshipping with the people and talking with the kids. Some of them had songs of thier own to sing for us!

Visitation with Cleburne County Baptist Youth

On Thursday, after a lovely supper with the Crumptons, we went on door to door visitation with the Cleburne County Baptist Youth Group through Heber Springs. They are a great group of young people and we enjoyed getting to know them better as we knocked doors and talked to people about the Lord. Lindsey, Rachael, and I talked to a man who's kids had grown up in their Christian school, but he had not been to church in some time. We hope the youth group leader, Bro. Billy can visit him again and talk to him more about becoming faithful to church again.

After visiting, we dropped by Sonic and got a drink with the group, and on the way back, the Crumpton kids sang for us. Tim Crumpton is an evangelist and he and his wife and family of five travel most of the year, singing, preaching, and conducting youth meetings. They sing beautifully together as a family, and they gave us one of their CD's to enjoy in the van. :)

Pastor Feil and his family took us out to breakfast before we left on Friday morning and they were such fun to be with. Adam Longo is the new pastor here.We were suprised to find that Pastor Longe was Rachael's Pastor's son. What a small world. We were able to enjoy there fellowship after the evening service. The people here were very sweet to us. We greatly enjoyed their company.

Today we were able to see the new building that is under construction for New Testament Baptist Church. How exciting it was to see what God was doing for them and how He has been working. The Lord has truly blessed them. Watching this church go up is a special blessing to Mr. Dustman; Mr. Dustman has praying for this to happen for a while. We got to sing for the construction workers, and Mr. Dustman expressed his burden for their church. We are praying that God does a work through this church. We were at Trinity Christian School today. The young people there were very sweet. They approached us and expressed their appreciation and told us that our songs spoke to their hearts. We were able to play volleyball with the young people and had so much fun just fellowshipping with them. We greatly appreciate their hospitality.

Riverview Baptist School

We had a lovely chapel service in Riverview Baptist School, where we were greeted by several friendly and outgoing students. They talked us into staying to have pizza with them for lunch, so we were able to spend more time talking to them and enjoying their energy and good spirit. We want to thank Pastor and Mrs. Atkinson, who were a great help and encouragement to us.
After lunch, we went up to Petit Jean State Park where we went on a wonderful hike down to beautiful Cedar falls. The Lord blessed , and we had the opportunity to talk to a young girl named Tracey that is 15 years old from Texas. Keanne Brazzell was able to share her testimony and the gospel with her. Continue praying for her salvation.

Jacksonville Baptist Temple

What a blessing Pastor and Mrs. Patterson were to us at our first Wednesday evening service! Thank you so very much!

These are some of the teenagers that we had the privilege of meeting and the enjoyment of getting to know.
We enjoyed fellowshipping with the Jacksonville Baptist Temple congregation. These people defined Christian courtesy and were an encouragement to talk to! The Lord spoke to our hearts during the service through Bro. Dustman's message: "What it is to Exercise Faith." He spoke about how a faith walk with the Lord presents challenges, but it is those challenges that grow our faith and better our walk with the Lord.

Continue to pray for us as we minister in Christian school chapels and churches this week.

Faith Heritage Christian School

This morning we had the opportunity to sing in chapel with about fifty young people. The children were very responsive to the message that was given by Mr. Dustman. Many high school students came up afterwards to talk to us about the college and the Lord's work. We would like to say thank you to Pastor Eckel for his hospitality.

Our Last Day in Knoxville Tennessee

We hit the road today at around five o'clock. We said goodbye to Knoxville and headed toward Millington, Tennessee. We have a chapel service tomorrow at Faith Heritage Christian School here in Millington. We will also be at Jacksonville Baptist Temple in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Please pray that we will be a blessing to these churches we visit. Check in on Thursday and see how these meetings went.

Putting Together the Puzzle

Psalm 40:3 says "And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God; many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD."

God often works in ways we cannot understand at first. Sometimes the way He works is like putting together a puzzle. The Lord is doing that with our trio. God is putting us together for a purpose - to serve Him this summer with our lives. We have already seen God do great things for us. We are learning that God is in control of every situation, and all we must do is trust Him.

One piece of the puzzle was to find the people God wanted in this trio. We know for a fact that God has put us together. We have come from completely different places, but God has been able to use us already to be a blessing to others through Him.

Another piece of the puzzle was to place the right people in our lives to encourage and strengthen us musically, but more importantly, in the Lord. We thank the Lord for Mr. Gray, Mrs. Stancil, Mr. Cheney, and Pastor and Mrs. Sexton. These are only a few of the people God is using. They have helped us these past days to perfect those things that we are doing for the Lord.

Our prayer is that we would bring glory and honor to Christ, and that we would trust in Him wholly in every step we take. Please pray that we would be a blessing and encouragement to those we meet. Pray that the Lord would bring us back safely and that we would grow in the Him.
